Group Executive Chairman
Rupert graduated in Law from Exeter University in 1984. Following operational service in the British Army, Rupert has built a distinguished career in private equity and corporate finance. Rupert's 20 years' experience and 300 completed deals have given him a unique insight into the selection, appraisal and management of direct private equity investments into the UK and international companies across all industry sectors. Rupert founded InvestUK in 2013. He is intensely client-focused and a frequent visitor to China and other countries, building relationships to expand our global network.
Operations Director
An experienced leader operating in both established organisations as well as start-up environments across a range of sectors both in the UK and internationally, Simon has held senior operational positions in corporations including B&Q, Virgin Retail and Pinnacle Telecom plc. Through his consulting practice Simon has led process development projects with businesses such as Kingfisher, British Gas, Anglian Water, EDF and Adidas Asia. Simon’s expertise and global experience is now being applied to the development and management of the operational infrastructure and technology to support InvestUK’s profitable growth.
iUK Academy Operations Director
Candice graduated from London University’s School of Oriental and African Studies with a degree in Japanese and Economics. Born and bred in Asia she began her career in investment banking in Hong Kong, working for HSBC and JP Morgan. She subsequently held a senior operations role in a leading Hong Kong litigation law firm. After relocating to the UK in 2020 Candice joined InvestUK as Director of Operations for iUK Academy where she is responsible for the design, coordination, implementation and management of the iUK Academy programmes as well as managing strategic relationships with industry experts, mentors and founders who form an integral part of the programme
Group Financial Controller
Saquib graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2014 with a BSc degree in Accounting & Finance and joined the InvestUK Group as a Trainee Accountant shortly afterwards. Having obtained his ACCA qualification in 2018, Saquib has since taken over Finance Department and is now the Financial Controller for the Group and its subsidiary companies.
Senior Manager - Portfolio
Bertie graduated from Newcastle University with a bachelors degree in Earth Science & Accounting, focusing his studies on geological economic reports. He discovered his passion for sustainability through his analytical studies and completed an online course at The University of Cambridge in Sustainable Finance. During his studies, he was also a keen rower, competing to a high level which gave him the perseverance and determination to complete tasks to a high standard.
Senior Manager - Client Services
Sophie graduated from the University of Leeds with a bachelor's degree in International History & Politics. Prior to joining InvestUK, Sophie worked in business operations and development, with a focus on strategic initiative and building long-standing relationships. At InvestUK, Sophie is responsible for the Client Management team and Insights program, guiding international clients through their entrepreneurial journey and relocation to the UK, maintaining and strengthening relationships with InvestUK's trusted experts and delivering a high level of care for every client.
Senior Analyst
Having graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Financial Maths, Sam now works for InvestUK in multiple capacities. He is responsible for maintaining and updating company data and tech systems, whilst also monitoring the progress of Innovator and Start-Up Visa Founder businesses throughout their time on the program.
Analyst
Millie, an English Literature graduate from Newcastle, initially joined InvestUK as a content writer. She now handles a variety of responsibilities, encompassing client success, and business analysis, to help clients successfully obtain visas and Indefinite Leave to Remain.

Having graduated with a dual degree in Economics and Geography at Trinity College Dublin, Tom is passionate about the relationship between economic development and geographic mobility. Having grown up in Ireland, an economy which has thrived off FDI for over 2 decades, Tom is acutely aware of the benefits of inward Investment. Tom works on the portfolio team, managing stakeholder expectations and relations.
